The two imperfect complete halves. The Trend The Truth

We have been watching ads since our childhood. They reflect what the trend is. In the ads of Fair and Lovely we saw how gradually the focus on a female being a bride changed to being the career oriented women. In the other sense it shows the fast moving society. Everyone loves their job and the glamorous lifestyle that follows it. And to fulfill that one has to part from the next necessities, called your spouse. Nature balances itself. Well nature did well here too. While the ‘ambitious’ became ‘over ambitious’ the ‘relationship’ changed to ‘long distance relationship’.

One of the main reasons which contribute to these relations is social networking sites. Earlier Orkut and now Facebook, MySpace and many more. Technology has made things really easier. People know someone ,they like each other, they meet and they fall in love and most of the times these people are from very different places, left with no other option than to live apart and use the wonderful products like Skype, Magicjack etc. .

One of the other, although not the major contributor, is the parents love for the NRIs.

Many fathers have this dream to get their daughter married to some guy earning good USD than someone earning the Gandiji’s note. But US laws becoming more stringent than ever prevent the girl from moving to US. Result is again the same. The ‘dreadful’ long distance relationship.

This is also relevant from the innumerable tariff schemes we see everyday everywhere .Thanks to the leading telecom giants and their awesome schemes which helped numerous separated two halves. For that sake the moment one says that they have reliance, the pitiful thought that runs through the mind, “must be having a long distance relationship. RIM to RIM is free on Rs999 voucher!!!”

The trend is truth and not the fad. It’s here to last. The companies will continue to cash on the couple’s emotional gratification. Sometimes with miss u cards and sometime with Rs. 999 voucher of RIM. But as the individual ambitions are increases the price is to be paid. The decision still is ours.
